March 11, 2009 By Craig Wilson

We understand that choosing to visit a church for the first time can be a stressful experience.  I know I get a little funny feeling in my stomach every year when I go on vacation and visit a church for the first time.

We want to make your first visit as stress free and as painless as possible.  In fact we want you to enjoy your first time with us.  So to make you feel right at home we’ve prepared this virtual visitors center especially for you!

So take a look around, make any notes that you need to and shoot us an email with any questions that come up that we haven’t answered yet.

What do others say?

I recently asked one of our newer attenders at Grace what attracted her to the church, here is what she said

  • Knowing that prayer was important to us as a church
  • The mix of old and new music was appealing
  • Knowing that the teaching was based upon Jesus Christ was a definite plus
  • The discipleship and small groups opportunities at Grace Community
  • Our community involvement

We invite you to come see for yourself what Grace Community is all about!

What is the preaching like?

First of all don’t worry there won’t be any YELLING!

We take the preaching of the Scriptures very seriously at our church.

Typically we go verse by verse through the various books of the Bible highlighting the work and the person of Jesus Christ.

Have you ever gone to church and felt like the Preacher was piling on? Has Christianity been presented to you as something you have to do for God to make Him happy? Well that’s contrary to what the Bible teaches.

Jesus said “Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Each week our messages try and remind you to rest in the finished work of Jesus Christ and what He has done for us on behalf of the Father.

What is your worship style like?

At Grace Community we believe that worship is to be a corporate experience. In other words you are not to simply be a spectator taking in a performance by a bunch of slick performers – or wannabe slick performers.

In our worship we seek to be:

  • Doctrinally correct
  • Simple
  • Hearfelt
  • Engaging

We sing Hymns and some Praise and Worship Songs with simple accompaniment. And it’s done in such a way that you can participate and benefit from the experience.

Will I find someone like me at Grace Community?

Good question! The answer is yes you probably will find someone just like you in age and life circumstances at Grace Community.

Are you:

  • A college student looking for a home away from home? Then you would fit right in with us.
  • A young family just starting out in life? Then you would fit in just fine.
  • A young adult just getting started in their career? Yep, we’ve got you covered.
  • A family with soon to be teenagers? We’ve got some of those two!
  • A middle age couple looking at an empty nest? You’ll fit in just fine!

Even if we haven’t described your life exactly we’re sure that you will find someone just like you at Grace. We invite you to come and be a part of our family.

Is there something for my chldren?

Absolutely! We provide child care for infants and toddlers and Sunday School Classes for the older kids! For more information on our ministry to children please click here
