Impossible? Not With God!

“For nothing will be impossible with God.”

“And Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced in years.”” (Luke 1:18 ESV)

How would you react if you had just been informed that you were going to be a part of a miracle?

The world likes to look at Christmas time as a season for miracles. Not Biblical miracles mind you, but the kind of miracles that makes for good made for tv movies. We hear and see so much about dysfunctional homes. ABC has a hit show called “Modern Family” of course their version of the family looks nothing like the Bible’s concept of the family and the home. From a biblical perspective the modern family is truly a dysfunctional home.

The home like the other areas of our life are to be be Christ honoring and God glorifying. The problem is that homes are made up of sinners. I’ve been a Christian for a long time, and I’ve been “in the ministry” for almost 20 years. As I’ve grown older both spiritually and physically I’ve learned some things along the way. One of the things that I’ve learned spiritually is that somehow we have managed to make the Christian life seem very complicated. We have somehow taken what God meant for our good and turned it into a burden. What ever happened to the simple gospel? Well the gospel is simple, meaning that everyone can grasp the fundamentals of the gospel. The complications arise when we try and live out the gospel. I read that quote this week, and immediately I knew that was the question that we as a church need to be asking and answering.

Last week we laid out a plan for the future. But in order for that plan to be a success in God’s eyes it must be accomplished in and by the power of the Holy Spirit.
