INTRODUCTION

Judgment. Wrath. This is what the end will be. The judgment and wrath in the end is Holy, righteous, and true. The judgment and wrath of God will be far reaching. They will affect every aspect of society, culture and all types of people. As we read the scriptures we see that scripture does not portray God’s wrath and judgment in a negative light but in a positive light.  In our last sermon we saw over and over again in chapter sixteen with the pouring of the seven bowls that God is true and right when His wrath comes. INTRODUCTION

As we come to chapters 15 and 16 of Revelation we come to our fifth series of seven different camera angles. In our last camera angle in chapters 12-14 we saw the hostility or the cosmic struggle behind the hostility the church here on earth faces. Whether we see it or not there is  spiritual warfare going on. The dragon, Satan, uses his agents the first and second beast, which are antichrist and the false prophet, to launch attacks on the church, the Messianic community throughout history. Then at the end of 14 we learned of the most gruesome picture we have seen up until this point of the wrath of God. It was a bloody picture with those who bear the mark of the beast being thrown into the great wine press of the wrath of God and being trampled until the blood flowed for 184 miles so high that a horse could swim in it. INTRODUCTION

As we come to chapters 13 and 14 we need to keep in mind that these are a part of a whole which we started last week in chapter 12. It is a part of the new camera angle which looks at the same time period we have been looking at since the beginning of the book. The 1,260 days or the time from the ascension of Jesus into heaven until the end when he comes again. Things will become more intense than we have seen up until this point in these two chapters. Chapter 14 in fact may be the darkest chapter in the whole book, and maybe even in all of the Bible. Read More→

INTRODUCTION

In our last sermon we looked at chapters 8-11. We saw the seven trumpets. More judgment was brought upon the earth. John was given a scroll to eat. The two witnesses which represent the church in their prophetic, or word proclaiming ministry was seen. Once their mission was done they were destroyed by the beast. The world rejoices at their demise and their death, but the story wasn’t over. Just when it seemed like all hope was lost the two witnesses, the church had a breath of life from God come in them and they were taken up to heaven. Jesus has returned for his church. Then the seventh trumpet was blown and their was an outburst of praise in heaven. No longer was God the one who is and was and is to come but He is the one who is and was because He has come again.
