Love the header for this post! And love the new logo you threw on the site. Very trendy!
This sermon was incredibly thought-provoking and convicting. I thought it tied in well with our chapter in Discipline of Grace about "Watching" for sin and temptation in our lives. It has reminded me to pray diligently to be prepared for and protected from spiritual attacks.

Really enjoying our Advent series! I've been reading through these first few chapters of Luke during my devotional time. I've really been thinking about how all of life, as modeled by Mary, really hinges on our attitudes towards Christ. Mary openly received her Lord, and we should do the same.

Great thoughts Pastor Craig! I am guilty of often thinking about Mary's role here, but Joseph's is as equally important and trusting of God. Good reminder that God's laws and standards are higher than societal expectations. If we are fully resting, trusting, loving, and serving Him - we can't go wrong.

Thank you for writing this. Very good to keep our focus on God's fulfilled promise, and true joy and peace that comes from Him.

Craig, enjoyed reading your comments. Giving a lot of thought to your observations about the Advent. When the kids were little and we were at FBC, the four Sundays leading to Christmas, we would gather around the living room, light our Advent candel, sing songs and read the Scripture that was appropriate for that Sunday. The book was authored by Dr. Dobson. I remember telling others what we were doing and the most common response was " isn't that some Catholic thing". To this day the kids still talk about it and I believe Jennifer has the book now and they do it with their children. Love the Christmas Season.

I agree with Thomas, great thoughts Ben!

When we get the Gospel wrong, so much confusion ensues! I pray that people in our town, especially the college, will use this as a way to springboard discussion and that Bible-believing Christians will follow 1 Peter 3:15 and be ready to give an answer. So grateful for a fellowship like GCC that teaches us sound doctrine and how to apply the Scriptures.

Very good article, Ben. We need more of the teaching and preaching of the gospel of grace in the world. It is truly good news!

That's a pretty good idea. We will just have to remind everyone when the next podcast is coming up so we can get the questions to us in time.

Thanks, Victoria. Though I didn't bring this out on Sunday what did God do after Adam and Eve had messed up their marriage? The solution wasn't directed towards them the solution - the sacrifice was directed towards Him! Awesome to think about.

Really loved the podcast! It's nice to see all the study we've been hearing about come to light :D Fantastic job! I wondered, could you have a time in podcast to answer questions? Like, have people submit questions via email regarding your topic (the Church) and you guys answer them in the show?
