Grace Community Church is pleased to be hosting
“The Reason for God Conversations on Faith and Life”
Many people are skeptical about the existence of God. When they see hungry children, social injustice and suffering that takes place in the lives of people that they know and love they wonder how could God exist and allow these things to happen? Or if God exists then he cannot be a good God and therefore they won’t or can’t believe in a God that appears to not be good.
Our skepticism can be healthy unless we allow it to turn into cynicism! How can we keep from allowing our skepticism to become cynicism? By openly and honestly exploring our questions and our doubts in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
We want to give you the opportunity to do just that. How? Through a time of group interaction in which everyone is encouraged to address their doubts and objections to Christianity. Using literature, philosophy, real-life experiences, and the Bible, together the group will explore the truth of Christianity.
During the six sessions we’ll explore the following six objections that many people have to Christianity.
1. Isn’t the Bible a Myth?
2. How Can You Say There Is Only One Way to God?
3. What Gives You the Right to Tell Me How to Live My Life?
4. Why Does God Allow Suffering?
5. Why Is the Church Responsible for So Much Injustice?
6. How Can God Be Full of Love and Wrath at the Same Time?
The first meeting will be September 8th 7:00 PM at the 427 Chestnut Street Suite #3 in Berea.
